Holiday Punch

Ingredients
1/2 cup pineapple juice
3/4 cup orange-pineapple or orange-peach juice
1 cup lemon-lime pop
2 scoops of sherbet (lemon, lime, orange, etc.)

Mix everything but the sherbet. Pour the mixture into two tall glasses. Add a scoop of sherbet, stir, and enjoy! Serves 2.

Tasty Eggnog

Ingredients
1 egg
1 tablespoon sugar
1 cup milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
Nutmeg (optional)

Blend everything but nutmeg until frothy. Sprinkle with nutmeg. Serves 2.

Hot chocolate variations

Mix 1 cup of hot chocolate with one of the following:


Yuletide Sandwiches

Ingredients
2 slices of bread
Things to fill a sandwich (peanut butter, meat, cheese)

Make a sandwich. Use a Christmas shaped cookie cutter on the sandwich.

Gingerbread Kids

Ingredients (Note: You may need to have some help from an adult for this one.)
1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup dark molasses
1/4 cup water
2 1/2 cups flour
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 teaspoon ginger
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/8 teaspoon allspice
Decorating materials (raisins, small candies, licorice, sprinkles)
Decorating icing

Beat shortening and sugar. Blend in molasses, water, flour, salt, baking soda, ginger, nutmeg, and allspice. Cover and put in the refridgerator for 2 to 3 hours
Heat oven to 375 degrees. Roll dough on lightly floured cloth-covered board, 1/4 inch thick. Use a cookie cutter and place the gingerbread kids on an ungreased baking sheet.
Use raisins for eyes, nose, and buttons. You could use licorice for as belt. Bake 10-12 minutes. Remove from baking sheet, cool, and trim with icing.

Snowballs

Ingredients
Ice cream
Coconut flakes
Red and green sprinkles
Mix coconut and sprinkles into a large flat dish or baking pan. Form balls of ice cream using an ice cream scoop. Roll the ice cream balls in the dish until well covered. Put the snowballs on a plate and in the freezer for fifteen minutes.

Pretty Pralines

Ingredients (Note: Ask an adult before using the stove.)
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup butter
1 teaspoon vinegar
2/3 pound pecans
Put the white and brown sugar, water, and butter in a saucepan. Cook over low heat, stirring frequently, until a drop placed in water forms a soft ball. Add vinegar and cook 1 more minute. Rub cooking oil on a large sheet of wax paper. Drop 1 tablespoon of candy mixture on the wax paper. Press three pecan halves on it before it gets cold. Pralines will be 3 inches in diameter and very thin.
